Duello a stelle e strisce anche per la medaglia di bronzo, che alla fine va al collo della grande favorita della vigilia, Kelly Clark, che porta a casa la terza medaglia olimpica dopo l’oro di Salt Lake City 2002 e il bronzo di Vancouver 2010. Il risultato però non può soddisfare completamente l’esperta 30enne di Newport, vincitrice delle ultime 4 edizioni dei Winter X Games nell’halfpipe ma anche di due gare di Coppa del Mondo quest’anno.
Rimane senza medaglia la terza delle americane, l’oro di Torino 2006 e l’argento di Vancouver 2010 Hannah Teter, ed anche in questo caso sono 25 centesimi di punto che separano le due statunitensi.
